Seinfeld on "Kramer" Tirade: "I Am Sick"

Jerry Seinfeld and Michael RichardsThe jerk store called. They ran out of Michael Richards.

Just hours after TMZ exposed "Kramer's" vile and racially-charged diatribe at a Hollywood comedy club, the actor's former "Seinfeld" co-stars are weighing in.

In a statement released by Jerry Seinfeld, the comedian said, "I am sick over this. I'm sure Michael is also sick over this horrible, horrible mistake. It is so extremely offensive. I feel terrible for all the people who have been hurt."

76. Mike, whatever you were drinking just before going out there, don't you ever drink it again. By the way, it was unprofessional, but you know this yourself. You owe nice apologies to all who were hurt accidentally there. They paid you and came to hear your humor and talent, and were served simply junk of everyday news instead. You should know well by now how to handle tough cookies in the audience, and above all - when out there... be Kramer... not Michael... take it easy man...

77. I think my favorite part of this video is when the guy in the audience calls the show Sein-FIELD. Classic.

78. I bet the black guy went home and called Kramer a Kike and an albino Cracker under his breath. Isn't that how it usually goes?

79. ok let's state the facts,
Some men heckled Richards...unfortunately we dont know how badly or what they said other than what's been reported to us because they werent on tape. reportedly the heckles were about him not being funny but let's not assume.
Richards became upset/unhappy and began yelling at them. Calling them niggers, saying 50 years ago they would have been hung upside down with forks in their asses.
the fact is not that 75% or whatever % of black people act this way because not one of us have anyway of knowing the behaviors of that many people of any race..so we are just gonna throw that one out of the window. The fact is not that its ok for anyone to use any offesive word regardless of race.

1. If the men didnt think Richards was funny they should have simply left and NOT heckled him..they were entitiled to their opinions however, they were not on stage, they were not paid to perform..they were wrong for their actions
2. Richards is a seasoned celebrity and a human, this means two things-he is used to criticism AND he is entitled to his own opinions and feelings
3. Richards felt however he did and responded with racial slurs and drudged up past acts of violence..He should not have resorted to name calling or fed the fire by saying what could have been done many years ago...Richards response was wrong
4. Richards could have simply asked security to escort the men out of the building because they were disrupting his show.

Bonus Truth: Everybody involved was wrong in some way.
Now people...I've been in a comedy show where black people heckled...its a pain in the ass...I've also been in a movie theater where white people heckled or threw things...its a pain in the ass... Guess what! PEOPLE are stupid..really really stupid. I know that Richards was wrong in his words and actions. I do think he should be punished for his actions. Jail-no not that serious...a fine maybe. I cant ask that he change his thoughts unless he holds true ignorance (lack of knowledge)..and then he can be educated...i'm sure that had he not been provoked we would have never known his true thoughts but unless we know what the other men said I cant propose punishment for them..but they hold responsibility too. Let's not get too wrapped up in society..I'm with the Drill Sergaent guy ...lets go back to our lives..whatever they may entail and keep it moving. Now go back to work...or not and be happy.

80. this is a clear case of PC gone out of control. IF the word nigger is such a terrable word then why are they always refering to eachother in this way, and why is it white peoples fault that blacks refer to eachother as niggers. This NAACP PC BS is how do you say all Mike's fault.

81. PC is bullshit. A bunch of liberal fucks that change the raw meaning of a word by sugarcoating it. What a bunch of pussies these people are, BOO HOO HOO! If you have every tried to debate or discuss this with them, you know what I mean. They stop talking and act superior like the stuck up cunts/dicks that they are.

Posted at 5:50PM on Nov 20th 2006 by It's just bullshit

82. I don't think he should have went about it the way he did, but I'm still proud of him. I think it's sad that when he calls a black person "nigger" it gets everyone upset, but when a black person calls a white person "honky" or "cracker" it's okay. they're both meant the same way. They're both meant to be derogatory.

Also, this crap about how people shouldn't "hate"! News flash: we're human. Just because I think that way isn't what makes the world that way. EVERYONE thinks that way. It's human nature! So the people out there thinking that if we "just quit hating and love each other" get off cloud 9 and get a reality check! The world isn't full of flowers and rainbows. It's full of people trying to get from line A to line B and not get pushed off the cliff in the process. So people need to get over it because it happens everyday. The only reason this even got so much publicity is because this guy is actually known. People just need to get over it.

83. i did.

84. Hey, use the "N" word and complain about us all you want. Just dont let my ass hear you do it. We'll see how many ALLMIGHTY comments come out your mouth then. This is wrong no matter what you think about blacks. And I would think its wrong if it was the other way around too. There jokes, and theres crossing the line.

85. I have to say I am completely disgusted with what he said and I agree I wouldn't call it a "mistake". A mistake is calling someone by the wrong name not a degrating, dehumanizing name over and over again. One slip of the tongue I might be able to deal with and accept if he apologized immediately, but to continue to say that word, that is just disgusting.

86. I'm a white guy, it really shouldn't matter, but for some reason, in this country, it does. Any reasonable person has to be scratching their head and wondering just what Michael Richards was thinking. The obvious first answer is that he is a degenerate racist. How could anyone doubt that, what with the ease that these hurtful words tumbled from his lips. The second answer is that he really isn't a stand-up comedian, he is a comedic actor who has been typecast for life because of a role that he was just too good at. The guy just didn't have comebacks for that comedy club staple, the heckler. Then Mr. Richards, stay the Hell out of comedy clubs. I guess stand-up isn't as easy as it looks. Newsflash, Mr. Richards: words hold very powerful meanings, especially racist ones. The sting of history is behind these words. What's the difference between the words Kike and Nigger? In his heart, I really don't hink Mr. Richards knows.

87. Birds of a feather flock together, if Michael calls african americans n*ggers than you can bet your ass Jerry does as well just behind closed doors...

88. Quit re-posting your comments from the other blog. We do not want to hear your opinions twice!! Once is enough already.

S T O P R E P O S T I N G! You're not that interesting to begin with! Come up with something new or don't post.

89. Oh, I am sure the spin doctors are meeting behind closed doors right now to figure out how they can resuscitate his career.

Perhaps a Mel Gibson atonement-type tour is in order. After all, Kwanzaa is just around the corner.

Finally, it is standard practice to announce prior to any of these comedy shows, "the use of recording devices is strictly prohibited." But, what serves as some sort of limited copyright protection for an artists' work should go out the window when said artists' work turns into a legitimate news story. Glad there was a camera rolling.

90. Who told those people to heckle him? They looked for what they got. I'm a black person but I can't make excuses or defend their stupidity. If you do something stupid but then get something stupid in return, that's karma.
